The new Android users, when buying a new smartphone or a tablet, keep on asking the same question: how do I register on the Play Store? The answer can be found in this article.
When first customising the new Android devices, you are encouraged to register with your Google account. You could skip this step with piece of mind and not enter the required data in order to register on the Android Play Store later, when you have enough time or willingness.
Anyways, you can get your account by doing this: Find the Play Store application in the menu of installed programs and launch it as shown below. If you still have not logged in to the device, you will be redirected to the Play Store registration screen.
Another way to do it is to go directly to your smartphone/tablet settings and get to the screen where you can create your Play Store account by clicking on “Add account” in “Accounts” section. Then, in the list of programs for which the creation of a new account is possible, you should select Google, as it is shown on the screenshots below.
Everything is now ready for your registration on the Play Store. In the new window that pops up, you will be asked what do you want to do: log in to an existing Google account or create a new one. You should select the second option, because first one is not suitable – you need to register on the Play Store.
Next, you will see fields for entering your first and last name. Enter the required information and, as soon as the fields are filled out, you will be able to click on the grey arrow on the bottom right and move to the next phase of registration.
The next step to create your account on the Play Store is, of course, to choose your user name, that is, your name or, more precisely, your nickname. The length should be 6-30 characters.
Note that the selected nickname will be a part of your new Google mailbox.
When creating your name you need to be careful and come up with a unique nickname. Android is a very informative and “smart” system, so if you suddenly come up with a name, and it is not unique, which means that someone has already taken it, there is nothing to be worried about. You can click on one of the many variations of the not unique nickname you suggested and choose any of them. It will surely not be taken.
When the username is finally chosen, you can proceed to the next step – to enter the password. The password should not contain less than eight characters and it is better to use letters in addition to digits in order to get a safe password. However, you will be informed of its safety as soon as you enter it in the first field. Once you have a password, enter it again in the second field, and if there are no errors, click on the gray arrow and move to the next step.
In case an owner loses his account there should be a way to recover it, and this is reasonable. For these purposes Google has added the screen where you can enter the data for recovery. You need to choose a question and answer it in the special fields provided on this screen. Besides, you can enter an additional address of your existing e-mail.
After entering the data to restore your account, you will be offered to enable saving your web search history and asked whether you want to receive Android news to the generated email address. You don’t need to agree to this.
On the last stage, if you are going to buy applications in the Play Store, you can enter your payment card data. Of course, you can skip this step and, if you wish, add your payment card data in the Play Store settings later on.
That’s it! You are now registered in Google and on the Play Store. The last thing you will be offered is to synchronize various data in your account just in case, so that in the future this data could be restored.
Clicking on the “forward” button, you will exit the registration mode and will be able to log in to the Play Store using your new account.
